Music & Art in the Gardens
Join us for the kickoff of our eight annual Summer Music & Art in the Gardens series. Summer is here and it’s time for relaxing outside with friends at your favorite garden party in the city!
The Band. There is nothing small about the sound of Big Ray and the Motor City Kings. As a proud hometown boy fromTaylor, he engages the audience big time and shares his love of Blues, Classic Rock, Soul, and Motown. All of this makes us big fans!
The Gardens. Full-bloom. Fragrance. Lush plantings. A feeling of the tropics, right here in Michigan. Enjoy the gardens while listening to live, local music and art. Bring your friends, grab some food and drink from our pop-up vendors and relax!
The Cars. Customs, classics, hot-rods, rat-rods, and tuners are all welcome to join the Cruise Night and Car Show, with hand-made, one-of-a-kind trophies provided by hometown favorite Shaggy. Perfect for the big sounds of Big Ray and our season kick-off. Grass lawn parking off Northline Road. Look for the purple sign. Onsite registration at no charge. One free wristband provided per car. $5 cover to enter the music grounds.
The Art. Enjoy the creative works of the students of Trillium Academy, in Taylor, with instructor Kelly Potter. Artist Greg “Shaggy” LeBlanc, owner of Shaggy’s Raticals, providing commissioned airbrush and metal artworks. A Detroit Autorama favorite, he has been selected to refurbish the Greenfield Village train and has been featured on national TV. He will display his works as part of the car show. He also creates one-of-a-kind trophies for the winners of the car show.
The Food. Each week, we’ll share the menu’s from our local Pop-Up Vendors.
Our friends Ashon and Leilani, from Norman Catering, serving lighter fare, perfect for summer. Wraps, salads, fruit and cheese plates!
