July 10, Music & Art in the Gardens, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Girls Night Out (Variety). Energetic duo Girls’ Night Out, made up of Mary Boonenberg and Cindy Pavelek will entertain the audience with their creative blend of timeless favorites as well as original melodies. Pavalek plays keyboards, harmonica and sings while Boonenberg sings lead and plays guitar. Mary’s musician husbands, Bob, will join them playing guitar on a variety of tunes from jazz standards and pop-from ns Ella Fitzgerald to Taylor Swift, Frank Sinatra to Jimmy Buffett.
Whether it’s playing at large venues like Meadowbrook Wine Festival, or Detroit’s MGM Grand Casino or smaller venues like Birmingham’s Peabody’s or Big Rock Chop house, Wyandotte’s Gizzmo’s Martini Bar or Filippa’s Wine Barrel in Shelby Twp., Girls’ Night Out makes for something a little out of the ordinary and very entertaining.
