Michigan Green Industry Association
Day of Service
Each year, the Michigan Green Industry Association (MGIA) selects an entity as the recipient for a Day of Service. This day allows lawn, landscape, and tree care professionals to volunteer their time and resources, as a group, to beautify where people enjoy green spaces. Since the event's inception in 2014, MGIA members have completed approximately 7 projects with the help of hundreds of volunteers, at an estimated value in time and materials of over $500,000.
On November 6th, 2021, MGIA (Michigan Green Industry Association) spent the day at the Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, completing work such as, bed cleanup, fertilizing, mowing, raking, tree pruning/removal and hardscaping. All of the trees, mulch, pavers, edging, perennials, etc. have been donated by MGIA member suppliers. Donations include:
-
Expansion of the Masco Pavilion patio
-
Widened walkways (phase 1)
-
A variety of trees and woody plants to complete our arboretum
-

-
