August 8, Dave Bennett and Friends (Jazz, Rock A Billy) 6-8 p.m. A multi-instrument phenomenon, Dave Bennett is a clarinet virtuoso who plays electric guitar, piano, drums and vocalizes. He is the only artist anywhere saluting The Roots of Pop: covering music from the Swing Era to early Rockabilly and Country, to Elvis Presley, the Beatles and more.
Special Event notice: Thanks to our friends at D & L Garden Center, you can enjoy the entire day in Gardens, starting at 12 p.m. with a free program of children’s music and art. This portion of the program includes a visit from renowned artist David Zinn. David’s temporary street art is composed entirely of chalk, charcoal and found objects, and is always improvised on location. Zinn’s art has achieved global attention, gracing the subway platforms of Manhattan, village squares in Sweden, and as far away as the street corners in Taiwan.
The 2018 Music & Art in the Gardens series cover a wide variety of genres and has wide appeal. Concerts are held outdoors in the Gardens at 22314 Northline Road in Taylor, MI. In case of inclement weather, the events move to the Heritage Park Sheridan Open Air Pavilion, at 12111 Pardee Rd, .5 mile away from the Gardens. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. There is a limited amount of seating available.
Food and drinks for sale at 5:30 p.m. No outside food and drinks, please. Music starts at 6:30 p.m.
