Larry S. Wright

President

PresLarryWright1Mr. Wright holds a BS degree from Eastern Michigan University and is an Advanced Master Gardener. He founded the landscape-contracting firm, Wright’s Landscape Services, in 1976. For 9 years he also served as the CEO/President for a regional trade association in metropolitan Detroit and was on the boards of many environmental and industry groups. Lawrence was also certified by the Michigan Department of Agriculture as a Trainer for Commercial Pesticide Applicators. Member of the Rotary Club of Taylor since 1983, Lawrence served as Club President 1991-92 and District Governor from 1995-96. He has also served as a Training Leader for Rotary International and a Zone Foundation Coordinator for The Rotary Foundation. He is a founding member of the Taylor Conservatory Foundation. He receives no annual compensation.

Patricia L. Donahue

Executive Director

patriciaMs. Donahue is a founding member of the Taylor Conservatory Foundation, co-founder of Taylor’s Goodwill Garden, former president of the Taylor Garden Club, former chair of Wayne County Conservation District and Growing Hope Board. She is an Advanced Master Gardener. Ms. Donahue has over 30 years of business experience in both profit and non-profit sectors.

Shane Anders

Director

Mr. Anders runs a successful towing business in the community and long-time supporter of the Taylor Conservatory. He receives no annual compensation.

Mary Boonenberg

Director

mary-b-cropped-300x278Ms. Boonenberg is musician, gardener, and active community builder. She was president of the Taylor Cultural Arts Commission, co-founded and continues to be active in the TCF Music and Art in the Garden series. She receives no annual compensation.

Erin Dobbins

Director

Although recently moving to Livonia, Ms. Dobbins is a long-time Taylor champion and actively involved in improving the community. She has served terms on the Cultural Arts Commission, Parks and Recreation commissions, and also served on the residents’ steering committee that helped to update the city’s master plan. Ms. Dobbins co-founded and continues to be active in the production of the TCF Music and Art in the Garden series. She was a Taylor Rotarian for many years and currently is Secretary for Fraternal Order of Police Associate Lodge 123. She is a licensed realtor with Keller Williams. She receives no annual compensation.

Louise Doute

Director

Ms. Doute brings a wealth of business and horticultural experience to the board through the establishment of a successful family-owned retail plant center, past president of the Taylor Garden Club, and many leadership positions throughout her strong history of community service. She is an Advanced Master Gardener, and also the Volunteer Coordinator for the Taylor Conservatory. She receives no annual compensation.

Perry Durham

Director

Mr. Durham is a Taylor resident with a long history of working to improve the community. He was instrumental in the installation of 12 Butterfly Gardens throughout the city, active in the Taylor Garden Club, and volunteer for city projects. A metal fabricator by trade, he has created and donated many pieces of beautiful artwork for public display at the Conservatory. He receives no annual compensation.

Bruce Jocks

Treasurer

Mr. Jocks is a lifelong resident of the Downriver area and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from Albion College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and partner in the accounting firm of Jocks & Associates, PC located in Trenton, Michigan. He is a member of the Trenton Rotary Club and has served on various committees and as Club President in 2001-2002. Mr. Jocks is currently the Rotarian advisor to the Trenton High School Rotary-Interact Club. He is married to Lauren and resides in Trenton, Michigan. He receives no annual compensation.

Ronnie Ruelle

Director

Ms. Ruelle is a Regional Manager for PNC Bank, leading a region of 15 retail branches in the Downriver/Monroe area in Michigan, President of Trenton Rotary for 2013-14, and executive director of Roar on the River, a popular fundraising event in Trenton. She is also well known community cheerleader for the Downriver area. A graduate of the Detroit College of Business. She receives no annual compensation.

Donna Schmidt

Director

Dr. Schmidt holds an Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction from Wayne State University. She is a retired Superintendent of Schools and graduate instructor at Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Schmidt is a member of the Board of Regents at Baker College of Allen Park. She has been a member of the Rotary Club of Allen Park since 1991 and served as President in 1995-1996 and 2009-2010. Dr. Schmidt is the current Future Vision Programs Chairperson for Rotary District 6400 as well as a vision facilitation district trainer. Dr. Schmidt was recognized by Rotary District 6400 in 2010 with a COG award for “Service Above Self.” She has been selected as Rotary Assistant Governor for Area 4 beginning in 2011. She is an ordained elder at her church and a past moderator of the women’s association as well as the Board of Stewards. Dr. Schmidt served as a community representative to the Detroit Edison Wildlife Habitat Council when she worked in the Monroe area. She receives no annual compensation.

Janet Thompson

Director

Janet is a life-long resident of Taylor, Michigan and a proud supporter of the Taylor Conservatory Foundation and the City of Taylor. She holds an MBA from Central Michigan University and is currently the President and CEO of Village Community Credit Union in Dearborn, Michigan. Janet and her team provide financial services to members in Wayne County and the local municipality while ensuring the financial stability and growth of the credit union. Janet is active in the credit union and local communities serving on a number of boards including the Credit Union Executive Society, Metro West Chapter of Credit Unions and Alternatives for Girls (AFG) supporting at-risk girls and young women in the Detroit Metropolitan area.

James Wagner

Director

Mr. Wagner is the former Mayor of the City of Wyandotte ( 1979-87) and currently works as a Sales and Marketing Consultant. He has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Wyandotte for the past ten years and is currently the Dean of the Assistant Governors for Rotary District 6400. He also has been an active member of the the Wyandotte Public School Foundation for the last ten years. He receives no annual compensation.
